2013 Cleveland Asian Festival: Focus on Celebrate
Asian Pacific American Heritage Month by joining thousands of people
from across the state of Ohio at the 4th Annual Cleveland Asian
Festival (CAF) on Saturday, May 18th and Sunday, May 19th, 2013.
In 2010, the inaugural year, Cleveland Scene Magazine praised CAF as
the “Best New Ethnic Festival”. In 2011 and 2012 the festival drew
over 30,000 and 40,000 attendees, respectively, and is bound to
attract even more attention this spring.
While the Festival’s offerings have evolved since 2010, the Health
Pavilion has drawn a crowd from the beginning. CAF organizers are
proud to announce that they are once again partnering with The
Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, MetroHealth, St. Vincent
Charity Medical Center, and Kaiser Permanente to provide free
services.
The Health Pavilion is held indoors on the first floor of Asia Plaza
and is universally accessible. Tables will be staffed Saturday and
Sunday from 11am to 5pm with knowledgeable, local health professionals
including specialists in arthritis, heart, sleep disorders, wellness,
and general internal medicine.
Free health screenings and education is available to all festival
goers without discrimination. Bilingual interpreters will be available
to assist in translations and Asian Services in Action will be on hand
to assist the community with access to social and health services.
Screenings including blood-pressure, bone density, cholesterol, and
glucose are geared towards adults, however the popular test for lead
levels will be offered to children. All screenings will be provided
free of charge.
An appointment is not necessary for most services; however, free
Mammograms are available by appointment only on May 18th. You must be
over 40 years of age and have either NO Insurance or Medicare,
Medicaid or Caresource to register. For more information or questions,
please contact Sujata @ Sburgess@asiaohio.org 216-881-0330
