Global Cleveland Educates Employers

on Hiring International

 
CLEVELAND, Ohio – What is a CPT or OPT visa? How does a Northeast Ohio employer tap into the local, international talent pool? What are the advantages to hiring international newcomers? All of these questions, and more, will be answered during Global Cleveland’s Global Employer Summit Series that begins mid-February 2023.
   The Global Employer Summit Series is a collection of complementary webinars featuring local professionals educating on how to hire international newcomers. This event is designed to support Global Cleveland’s mission to grow Northeast Ohio’s economy by welcoming and connecting international people to opportunities.
   A recent survey by The Fund for Our Economic Future found that 80% of companies reported experiencing a talent shortage, and of that 80%, almost all of them (94%) noted they are not getting enough qualified applicants for their hiring needs. Global Cleveland believes that hiring international newcomers is the solution to this burgeoning issue.
   “People are under the impression that hiring local, international talent is too difficult, and so they don’t even accept these types of applications despite them being from highly qualified, eager workers,” Joe Cimperman, president of Global Cleveland, said. “During the Global Employer Summit Series, we’re going to break down misconceptions around hiring international talent so that local leaders know why and how they can tap into this often-overlooked talent pool.”
