  OCA Greater Cleveland Documentary Public Broacast
We are happy to announce the public broadcast premiere of the OCAGC documentary “The History of Cleveland’s Chinatown - An Oral History of Chinese Americans in Cleveland” Sunday, February 19th at 12 noon on WKYC Channel 3 - Cleveland!
    The film is a passion project of the filmmakers to tell the 150-year journey of Chinese-Americans, their struggles, their triumphs, and the American dream in Northeast Ohio.
   The documentary is presented by OCA Greater Cleveland, with funding provided by the Cleveland Foundation‘s Minority Arts & Education Fund, Margaret W. Wong & Associates, and individual donors.


   The film will also be part of the CWRU's Faces of Chinatown Exhibit on Feb 22 from 4:30pm - 7pm at the Kelvin Smith Library. And if you watch it anytime throughout the month of February at City of Cleveland TV20 (also in May). Finally, it will be available in May with WVIZ/Ideastream.

First aired in February 2013, OCA Asiatown Voice 88.7FM is on every Sunday from 7 to 8 a.m. to provide an inside look into the Asian Pacific American community, culture, and events happening in Northeast Ohio. AUTHOR VISIT WITH THRITY UMRIGAR & COMMUNITY READ


   Avon Lake Public Library, in partnership with Avon Lake City Schools, is honored to present a month-long special programming event inspired by the January 2022 Reese’s Book Club pick book, Honor, by best-selling Indian-American journalist, critic, and novelist, Thrity Umrigar.
   Approximately a dozen programs and multiple displays will be held and set up at the Library between March 1 and March 31, 2023. The highlight of this program will be on Thursday, March 30, with two opportunities to hear Umrigar speak first at the Avon Lake High School Performing Arts Center (PAC) and also at the Avon Lake Public Library. As a part of this event, the Library is distributing 100 books beginning January 27 (while supplies last) to encourage reading, sharing, and engagement.
