一堂好的演講讓人感動,
給人鼓勵,您會知道這個世界上還有這么優秀的人,當您常常與優秀的人在一起,你自己也會變得優秀,因爲她們會改變你的認知,給您榜樣做一個智慧的人。
3月14日,在Union Club我參加一場活動,Cleveland Council World Affairs
邀請了2位榮獲2023總統international Celebration Women of
courage的獲奬者到此演講,一位是來自馬來西亞的Senator Datuk Ras Adiba Radzi
,還有一位是來自central Africa republic professor Daniele Darlan.她們倆不同背景,二人十分平易近人,她們分享她們的生活工作成長的背景。這么智慧的女人在她們的國家引領這個時代。

榮獲2023年此項奬勵的11位受奬人之一的馬來西亞Ras Adiba ,曾經是一名廣播記者、新聞主播、主持人、詩人、導演和製片人。她于
1995年車禍不幸開始坐輪椅,她沒有給自己找理由妥協,對生命更有信心毅力,她是第一位在2020 年 5 月 20
日被任命爲代表殘疾人的參議員。
另外一位Daniele Darlan,她是中非律師、敎授和法學家,曾于 2017 年至 2022
年擔任該國憲法法院院長。她是第一位女性被任命,她表示敎育是改變人生的一把鑰匙,她不否認在今天她們的國家還不是那么開明,女人的地位還不平等,雖然她用法語演講,但句句話進入人心。
她倆都榮獲2023年國際女性勇氣奬,上周倆人在白宮由總統夫人給予頒奬,一周以後她們在克利夫蘭成功演講,敬佩和掌聲留下最好的答案。
我記得很小的時候外婆對我説,這個世界上唯一只有一樣東西買不到,那是發自內心的尊敬。人有福氣就是人的慈悲和善良,有愛的人就像陽光照着他人….我感受到了這倆位優秀女性的激情和能量。

當晩的主持人Carina Van Vliet是Cleveland Council on World
Affairs首席執行官,她熱情大方給大家留下深刻印象,尤其在演講之前她對我説了她曾經在中國2年,她特別喜歡中國,今天我就收到她的郵件:
Dear Ying Pu
It was a pleasure to meet yesterday evening, and I am so glad you
enjoyed our two amazing Women of Courage honorees!
In 1996, I went to China as a foreign exchange student at the
teachers’ university in Kunming, Yunnan Province. I lived with a
host family, who welcome me with such kindness. I remember making
dumplings with my host mother and visiting the tomb of my host
father’s ancestors. I fell in love with the Chinese people and
Chinese culture, with its 5,000-year history. I went back to China
in 2002-2003 to teach international economics at a private
university near Quanzhou in Fujian province.
I loved spending time with my students. During the school breaks, I
traveled by train back to Kunming to visit my host family and
introduce them to my mother and sister who came to visit. It was a
special moment of connection. I carry those memories of China and of
my friends there with me still today. I hope to have the chance to
go back and visit again. In the meantime, in my role as the CEO of
the Cleveland Council on World Affairs, I am able to invite guest
speakers to talk about China and hopefully help deepen the
understanding of China in Cleveland. We have one such program
