 As it states, the scholarships are to be awarded to members of the Northeast Ohio refugee and immigrant communities served by Asian Services in Action, Inc who are seeking higher education after high school.

  The Coleman Foundation offers two “Aiming Higher” scholarships up to $5,000.00 each for tuition and educational related expenses to members of the northeast Ohio refugee and immigrant community served by Asian Services in Action, Inc.
  The scholarships are intended for: (a) graduating high school seniors, or (b) high school graduates wishing to begin or who are currently engaged in higher education studies. Scholarships are for students attending accredited institutions of higher learning -– including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges—or professionally recognized certificate programs that offer specialized training.
  Scholarship Requirements:?Candidates must submit the following materials by the June1, 2024 application deadline:
*a recent school transcript;
*a current resume/CV that includes volunteerism and extracurricular activities, leadership roles, and special awards;
*a well-written 500-750 word essay which addresses: (a) your history and background and (b) your career goals and why you wish to continue your education beyond high school.
*two letters of recommendation from a teachers, school officials, or co-workers that discuss and provide examples of your character, academic strengths/accomplishments, and leadership/contributions to the community.
  Email the above materials to Kelly Le at: kle@asiaohio.org by June 1, 2024. A scholarship selection committee, including Dr. and Mrs. Coleman and staff members of ASIA, Inc. will review all applications. Finalists will be interviewed – either in-person or virtual. Final decisions will be based on academic standing, community involvement, letters of recommendation, financial need, the essay, and interview.Would you please share applicants names with May Chen to follow up at mchen@jhcohio.org
