Ohio Governor Mike DeWine joined leaders from The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center to announce that the Robert F. Wolfe and Edgar T. Wolfe Foundation has made a $50 million commitment to the hospital's new tower, set to open in 2026.
"Few people know, or will ever know, even half of the good works John F. Wolfe and Ann Wolfe put their shoulders behind to benefit Columbus and central Ohio. They preferred to be a quiet force for good with lasting impact,” Governor DeWine said. “I think John F. Wolfe would be delighted about his family’s continued efforts to improve the quality of life in central Ohio, and health care is vital to quality of life.”

Governor DeWine and First Lady Fran DeWine unveil the new sign for the Buckeye State Tree Nursery.
Governor DeWine joined Ohio Department of Natural Resources Director Mary Mertz to plant the first seeds in Ohio's new Buckeye State Tree Nursery.
“The opening of the Buckeye State Tree Nursery is a huge step toward protecting and replenishing forests across Ohio,” said Governor DeWine. “Planting trees is an investment into our state’s future, and by growing the seedlings right here in the Buckeye State, we are making that future even brighter for our children and grandchildren.”

Associations representing Ohio's education and technology communities from across the state shared their support for the AI Toolkit launched by Ohio Lt. The County & Independent Fairs Grant Program aims to support county and independent agricultural societies in promoting and improving their annual exhibitions, ensuring that fairs remain vibrant hubs in their communities.
“Fairs aren’t just great agricultural education for our kids or entertainment for our communities, they’re living showcases of our state’s vibrant history and bright future,” said Governor DeWine. “By investing in and improving these celebrated destinations, we’re creating traditions and memories for generations of Ohioans to come.”

Governor DeWine and Ohio Department of Aging Director Ursel J. McElroy announced the launch of the Ohio Nursing Home Quality Navigator – a new online tool that provides users detailed information about nursing homes across the state in one convenient digital location.
A recommendation of the Governor’s Nursing Home Quality & Accountability Task Force, the Navigator includes a searchable map of all active nursing homes in Ohio with care quality metrics, facility comparison functionality, and other features, such as staffing ratios, specialty services offered, and the number of health and safety violations a nursing home received. The tool is designed to empower Ohioans when considering a nursing home for themselves or a loved one.
“Our Task Force traveled to every corner of the state, listening to nursing home residents, their family members, friends, and caregivers. Time and again, these people told us that the information they needed to make one of the most important decisions of their lives – where to live and receive care – was scattered across a variety of sources,” Governor DeWine said. “We heard loud and clear that Ohioans making these decisions want an accessible, trusted, single source of information about nursing homes available at their fingertips. Our new online Navigator will accomplish just that, providing an unprecedented level of transparency about the quality of Ohio’s nursing homes so people can make informed choices.”

Governor DeWine applauded changes to Ohio sports wagering rules that would remove collegiate prop bets from the list of legal bets that can be placed under Ohio’s contractual rules for operators.
“The Ohio Casino Control Commission took quick action to protect student athletes from unnecessary and potentially harmful threats,” said Governor DeWine. “Amending rules to focus bets on the team and away from individual athletes will improve the marketplace in Ohio and properly focus betting attention on the teams and away from individual student athletes."
